If you only play bowls on the odd occasion, or just bowl for fun, a lot of the greens have bowling shoes you can hire out or are available as part of your green fees then rented bowling shoes may be all that you need.

If you find yourself more interested in the more competitive side to the game then owning your own pair of shoes is a must, these must be of regulation colour (Brown, White, Tan).
