Weston Super Mare Triples

SUNDAY “ALL DAY” TRIPLES COMPETITIONS
Teams entering for this Competition may be ALL LADIES or 2 LADIES and 1 MAN.
The competition takes place on Sunday 22 August 2010. This event is part of the Town`s main “week long” Tournaments, and precede the main Tournament events which commence on the following Monday.
This Competitions have become very popular and are open to all bowlers, whether or not they have come to play in the main Tournament events during the week, or whether they come just for the one day. With the facilities available, we are able to accommodate up to 60 teams for these competitions.
Teams may be entered by  completing one of the separate Entry Forms which are available “on–line”, or by telephoning or writing to the Tournament Registrar at the address shown below.
RULES
The Competition is run on a Round Robin basis. Teams consist of 3 players, each one playing 3 bowls.
The competition comprises two Sections. Section A commences play at 9.30am, and Section B at 10.30am Each Team plays four games of 8 ends, followed by an 8 end “play-off” to determine  final positions. Two points will be awarded for each win and one point for a draw. The winners of Section A will play the winners of Section B in the Final. The runners up in each Section will play off for 3rd and 4th places. If points are equal in either Section at the end of the `Round Robin` stages the winners shall be determined by shot difference and total shots scored, in that order.  Should the teams still be equal one extra end will be played to decide the winners.
Prizes for these competitions are:
1st Prize £300. 2nd Prize £150.
3rd Prize  £75.
4th Prize  £45.
NO VISITS TO THE HEAD ARE ALLOWED DURING PLAY. In the unlikely event of any dispute the decision of the Tournament Committee is final.
The full entry fee of £12 per team must be sent with the entry form and is not refundable, except when entries are declined due to the competition being over subscribed. Please make cheques payable to WSMOBT`s. Receipts will not be issued unless a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed with the Entry Form.
